KPCC president K Sudhakaran on Monday alleged that the CPI(M) had attempted to murder him at least six times in the past and he had barely escaped, a day after the ruling party accused him in numerous murder cases.
In a statement, Sudhakaran alleged that none of the accused in the cases related to such murder attempts were convicted as the witnesses were threatened.

He also alleged that those who conspired to kill him are currently in high positions of the party and the state government.

Sudhakaran's allegation came a day after CPI(M) state secretary M V Govindan had made scathing remarks against the Congress leader, saying he was an accused in numerous murder cases including in an attempt to murder former Left minister and LDF convenor E P Jayarajan.

In his statement, Sudhakaran in turn claimed numerous instances in which the CPI(M) allegedly attempted to murder him.

"There were attempts to murder me at Payyannur, Thazhe Chovva, Mele Chovva, Mattannur, Peravur and Koothuparamba areas (of Kannur district). There were many attempts to kill me and I escaped from all by either not travelling through the same route or changing cars or at sometimes even by changing the number plates of the cars," Sudhakaran claimed.

On Sunday, Govindan had alleged that all the allegations that are coming out against the Left party in Kerala currently were part of an attempt to save Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan and KPCC chief Sudhakaran from the cheating cases they are facing.
