Andhra Pradesh: BRS MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy Stabbed During Poll Campaign By Unidentified Man

Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, leader of the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the party's candidate for the Dubbak assembly segment, was reportedly attacked while campaigning on Monday. According to the police, an unidentified individual in Siddipet district is alleged to have stabbed him.

The Member of Parliament representing the Medak Lok Sabha constituency sustained stomach injuries and has been transferred to a nearby hospital. Reports indicate that his condition is stable.

The occurrence occurred within the Doulthabad mandal while Prabhakar Reddy, a candidate of the BRS for the upcoming November 30 assembly elections in Dubbak, was engaged in campaign activities, as reported by the police.

Television footage depicted Prabhakar Reddy taking immediate action to manage the stab wound on his stomach, attempting to control the bleeding, all while seated inside a vehicle.

The man who allegedly stabbed the MP was reportedly "beaten up" by some locals.

"The assailant has been taken into custody. We are verifying his details," Siddipet Commissioner of Police N Swetha told PTI.
