About The Author
Miriam Koshy is an interdisciplinary artist ,exploring immersively the areas of Environmental and Land Art and community engagement through installation, performance, and films.Her works emerge from a lived and spiritual inquiry at both, the community and personal level into Nature as sentient and intelligent. Her art dwells on the interconnectedness of all beings in nature, human and more than human. Miriam’s art practice empowers her to grapple with the universal disconnect and ecological grief and anxiety that simmer in the face of the climate change . Her response to the ecological challenges facing Goa in recent years , be it Mollem, the Mangroves and Khazans or Mhadei, through her interdisciplinary and collaborative art interventions have been to engage the community and raise awareness and action .It was through this journey that she founded the Earthivist Collective in 2022 and became one of the founding members of the Khazan Society of Goa . Miriam Koshy has also been a curator and gallerist in Goa for over 14 years and was instrumental in transforming Gallery Gitanjali into a dynamic cultural hub. Her journey blending art , activism and environmental advocacy are underlined by a strong sense of calling and commitment to environmental causes and to positive community impact.
