Actor Manoj Bajpayee took everyone by surprise when he recently posted a shirtless picture, flaunting his six-pack abs. Fans went gaga to see him in a never-seen-before avatar. They lauded his physical transformation but a section of netizens called it 'edited' and 'photoshopped'. In a recent interview, Manoj admitted that his shirtless picture was morphed.

Manoj told Indian Express that it was a promotional strategy for his series, 'Killer Soup'.

"It was morphed. It was a campaign strategy by Netflix. So, they wanted to start a campaign on a high with the intrigue and they managed to be successful doing it," he said.

He told India Today the same thing. The actor said it was photoshopped and not real. "That's not my body. It's impossible to do something like that. It was their decision, a marketing strategy, to start the campaign for Killer Soup. Even if I want, I cannot have such a body as I do all kinds of films. Those six-packs would not suit many of my characters,'' added Manoj.

On January 1, Manoj Bajpayee posted a pic of his chiselled body and captioned it, “New Year New Me! Dekho d̶e̶l̶i̶c̶i̶o̶u̶s̶ soup ka meri body pe asar. Ekdum killer look hai na?."

With the caption, he was referring to his latest release 'Killer Soup'. It released on Netflix on January 11.

Not only his fans, his industry peers including Anurag Kashyap, Sunil Grover, Sunny Hinduja and Rajesh Tailang among others commented on his pic.

'Killer Soup' is produced by Honey Trehan and Chetana Kowshik and directed and co-written by Abhishek Chaubey. The web series also stars Konkona Sensharma, Nasser, Sayaji Shinde and Lal among others in key roles.

Coming back to Manoj, he will also be seen in 'The Family Man 3'. It is said to be releasing in 2025.
