Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare’s pre-wedding ceremonies have started. Aamir Khan’s daughter dearest, Ira Khan, is getting hitched to her long-time boyfriend Nupur Shikhare tomorrow, January 3. People were seen attending the Haldi function earlier today. It saw the near and dear one of the family come together for the celebrations.
Among the people who attended the celebrations were both of Aamir Khan’s ex-wives, Kiran Rao and Reena Dutta. The two ex-wives coming together for the Haldi functions definitely was a wholesome sight as it showcased to the world how the family is knit together as a unit despite their own personal connections with each other.

The celebrations have been in talks for almost a year now. Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare got engaged last year, and since then they have been prepping for the grand celebrations. Aamir Khan too seemed to have taken some time off work and spent some quality time with his kids and the entire family. He had been seen with the family quite often in the past year and a half.

On the work front, there has not been any announcement as such by Aamir Khan. However, his production house is all set to come up with its next project ‘Laapataa Ladies’ which is set to release on March 1. It’s Kiran Rao’s next directorial after ‘Dhobi Ghat’. It was earlier supposed to be released in January, but with the wedding celebrations consuming time for the entire family, it was impossible for anyone to promote the film. Now, post the wedding celebrations, the family will get together and start promoting the film, which has already been lauded a lot at various international film festivals.

Aamir Khan’s Ex-Wives And Children
For the unversed, Aamir Khan was married to Reena Dutta first. The two have a son, Junaid Khan and a daughter, Ira Kha. While Ira Khan is getting hitched, Junaid Khan is also going to make his film debut this year, which is another big reason for the family to be celebrating. After parting ways with Reena Dutta, who was his childhood sweetheart, Aamir Khan went on to get hitched to Kiran Rao. The two of them had worked together on projects like ‘Lagaan’, ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and many others before they took the wedding plunge. They even made films like ‘Peepli Live’ and ‘Dhobi Ghat’ together. The two have a son, Azad.
