July 9, 2025, marked the birth centenary of legendary actor-filmmaker Guru Dutt. As part of the centenary celebrations of the movie maestro, Ultra Media and Entertainment will curate a retrospective of Guru Dutt’s timeless classics, in collaboration with NFDC-NFAI. Five movies of the actor will re-release in theatres across India from August 8 to 10, 2025. This centenary retrospective is a tribute to the visionary storyteller.
The 4K restored versions of Dutt's Pyaasa (1957), Aar Paar (1954), Chaudhvin Ka Chand (1960), Mr. & Mrs. 55 (1955), and Baaz (1953), will provide the new generation with an opportunity to experience Guru Dutt's cinematic brilliance on the big screen.
The restoration of Dutt's films has been undertaken by NFDC-NFAI, to preserve their lyrical beauty and soulful storytelling. Cinephiles can revisit these timeless masterpieces which was a blend of lyrical music, layered characters and visual innovation.
