Venus Williams is set to return to competitive tennis for the first time in 16 months after accepting a wildcard for the upcoming Washington Open. The 45-year-old, who last played at the 2023 Miami Open, will join a high-profile women’s singles field featuring Emma Raducanu, Jessica Pegula, Naomi Osaka, and Amanda Anisimova. The WTA 500 event kicks off on July 21.

Kelsey Mitchell scored 25 and Aliyah Boston added 19 as the Indiana Fever pulled away late to beat the Atlanta Dream 99-82. Caitlin Clark had 12 points and nine assists.
