D Gukesh has made history by defeating Ding Liren in the 14th round of the 2024 FIDE World Chess Championship to become the youngest ever World Chess Champion. In a tense finale, Gukesh capitalized on a blunder from Ding on move 55, taking control of the game and ultimately claiming victory with a final score of 7.5-6.5. After a strong start in the 11th round, Gukesh faced a setback in the 12th but kept his composure throughout the remaining rounds. His victory marks the breaking of Garry Kasparov’s long-standing record. Gukesh’s success was supported by his dedicated team, including Paddy Upton, Grzegorz Gajewski, and Pentala Harikrishna, who helped him prepare mentally and physically for the challenge. Their guidance, along with the unwavering support of his family, played a crucial role in his remarkable achievement.
