Novak Djokovic Vs Miomir Kecmanovic, Wimbledon: Serbian Earns 100th Win At SW19 To Reach Fourth Round

Novak Djokovic also has 101 victories at Roland-Garros, meaning he is just the second male or female player in the Open Era to claim 100 singles match wins at multiple Grand Slam events, along with Roger Federer (at the Australian Open and Wimbledon)

Novak Djokovic earns 100th Wimbledon win

Novak Djokovic earned his 100th win at Wimbledon with a straight-sets victory over Miomir Kecmanovic to reach the last 16 on Saturday.

Despite a slightly nervous ending, Djokovic reached the fourth round at the All England Club for the 17th time with a 6-3 6-0 6-4 victory in just one hour and 50 minutes.

Kecmanovic matched Djokovic in the opening stages, but after the 38-year-old served to love to take a 4-3 lead, he then got the first break of the match on his way to taking the first set.

There was no way through for Kecmanovic in the second. Djokovic broke his serve in the first game and won the remaining games without facing a single break point to put him on the brink of qualifying for the next round.

And after racing into a 5-1 lead in the third, it looked like Djokovic would sail over the finish line as he started producing some exhibition tennis, with Kecmanovic unable to offer a response to his drop shots.

But the 25-year-old fought back, delaying his rival's victory as he earned a first break of the game before serving to love to claw it back to 5-4, only for Djokovic to convert his first match point.

Djokovic will now face Alex de Minaur in the last 16, after the Australian earned a hard-fought 6-4 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 win over August Holmgren earlier on Saturday.

However, Jakub Mensik, who beat Djokovic to claim the Miami Open title in March, was knocked out of the tournament.

He lost 6-2 6-4 6-2 to Flavio Cobolli, meaning his wait to reach the fourth round of a grand slam for the first time stretches on.

Data Debrief: Djokovic brings up his century

Djokovic is the second player in the Open Era to claim 100 men's singles match wins at Wimbledon, after Roger Federer (105).

He also has 101 victories at Roland-Garros, meaning he is just the second male or female player in the Open Era to claim 100 singles match wins at multiple grand slam events, along with Federer (at the Australian Open and Wimbledon).

Djokovic (46) has also equalled Federer for men's singles match wins at Wimbledon after turning 30 in the Open Era.
