The Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025 is finally set to unfold on Saturday, July 5, at Bengaluru’s Sree Kanteerava Stadium after a brief postponement featuring top javelin stars from India and around the globe.
India’s finest – two-time Olympic medallist and reigning world champion Neeraj Chopra – will headline the javelin meet that is named in his honour sanctionsed by the Athletics Federation of India. The Tokyo 2020 gold medallist and Paris 2024 silver medallist recently crossed that elusive 90m mark, registering a personal best of 90.23m at the 2025 Doha Diamond League, where he finished second.
Fellow Indian throwers will not only have to match Chopra’s standards but also face tough competition from international heavyweights like Germany’s Thomas Rohler, the Rio 2016 Olympic champion, and Kenya’s Julius Yego, the 2015 world champion and Rio 2016 silver medallist.
