The second leg of the Diamond League 2026 season will take place in Xiamen on May 23. This is the second stop of the season in China, following the opening leg at Shanghai/Keqiao.

In the season opener on May 16, India’s Parul Chaudhury made a strong start, finishing seventh in the women’s 3000m steeplechase and falling just short of her own national record.

South African sprinter Gift Leotlela caused a massive upset in the men’s 100m race, winning ahead of stars like Ferdinand Omanyala and Kenny Bednarek. Jessica Schilder set a Diamond League record with a 21.09m throw in the shot put. Meanwhile, Mondo Duplantis clinched his 40th consecutive event win in pole vault.

After the upcoming legs in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and the USA, the Diamond League will conclude with a two-day final in Brussels, Belgium.
