Aliyah Boston #7 helps Caitlin Clark #22 of the Indiana Fever walks to the bench after being taken out of the game with an injury during the second half of a game against the Connecticut Sun at the TD Garden on July 15, 2025 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark left Tuesday night's game in the final minute holding back tears after grabbing at her leg - an apparent injury that would be her third this season.

Clark walked back downcourt holding her right groin after assisting on the Fever's final basket of an 85-77 victory over the Connecticut Sun in front of a sold-out crowd of 19,156 at the TD Garden in Boston. As teammate Aliyah Boston tried to console her, Clark walked to the basket stanchion and banged her head against it before heading to the bench. During the timeout, she covered her head with a towel and appeared to be holding back tears.

Clark, who has already missed nine games this season due to two separate left leg injuries, struggled with her shooting in the rare WNBA game at the home of the Celtics and Bruins, scoring 14 points while making 4 of 14 shots. She added seven assists and eight rebounds and made her only 3-pointer in seven tries with just three minutes left, giving the Fever a nine-point lead that was their biggest of the game.

Kelsey Mitchell scored 21 points and Natasha Howard had 18 and 13 rebounds as Indiana won its third straight.

Tina Charles tallied 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Sun, who beat the Los Angeles Sparks in Boston last year but have stumbled to a league-worst 3-19 record this season.

Hamby, Jackson lead Sparks past Mystics

Dearica Hamby scored 26 points, Rickea Jackson had 22 and the Los Angeles Sparks used a big first-half run to beat the Washington Mystics 99-80.

Shakira Austin had 16 points and eight rebounds for Washington. Sug Sutton added 14 points and Aaliyah Edwards scored 13.

The Sparks closed the first half on a 17-2 run over the final four minutes to reach their most points scored in any half this season at 59. Hamby scored 18 in the first half, including a 3-pointer just before the buzzer for a 25-point lead.

The Mystics, who were held to 12 points in the second quarter, scored 12 points in the opening four minutes of the third. But the Sparks held onto their double-digit lead for the entire second half.
