Marco Bezzecchi won the maiden Indian Grand Prix on Sunday, displaying exceptional temperament and riding ability.

The race began with Martin of Prima Pramac taking the lead at Turn 1, followed by Bagnaia, and Bezzecchi in third place.

Bezzecchi, on the other hand, quickly recovered the top rank. He first passed Bagnaia for second position and then surged into the lead when Martin went wide at Turn 4.

Following that, Bezzecchi left the bunch far behind to compete for the last two podium spots. He passed the checkered flag eight seconds before the next rider.

Bezzecchi was overjoyed with his victory.

“It’s a track that I liked the first time I rode on it. There was some hard braking, but also some fast parts and chicanes.

“Physically, I felt better with the head, so a change of direction was not a problem. Sector three was fantastic to ride,” he said.

Martin finished second, but Bagnaia crashed out at Turn 4 for the third time this season.

Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo finished third, followed by KTM's Brad Binder.

Marc Marquez, the eight-time world champion who was running fourth behind Bagnaia and Martin before running wide, finished ninth.

Pedro Acosta won the 12-lap Moto2 race and increased his championship lead.

Tony Arbolino, who was riding for Marc VDS, finished second, while American Joe Roberts finished third.

Meanwhile, James Masia of Leopard Honda won the Moto3 championship with no competition from the bunch behind him.
