The whistle blows in Piraeus! Olympiacos, desperate for their first win, face Mbappe and Vinicius-led Real Madrid, who seek to tighten their grip on qualification. Stay tuned!
A very bright start for Real Madrid, as was expected. Vinicius almost gave an early lead to Los Blancos, but his powerful effort from the edge of the box brought out a good save from Tzolakis. Chiquinho, meanwhile, has a crack at Lunin's goal, but it goes wide of the post.
Chiquinho!! Minutes after threatening the goal from 25 yards out, the Portuguese midfielder stuns the visitors by breaking the deadlock. It is an exceptional team goal from the Greek side, with Podence and El Kaabi combining welll before Chiquinho finished it past Lunin.
Chance!! Chiquinho could have doubled his side's advantage after finding a bit of space in front of the box and having a powerful shot, but Lunin rises up to the ocassion to keep the danger out. The Greek side are taking the fight to the mighty Real Madrid!
Mbappe equalises for Madrid!! A momentary lapse from the Olympiacos defence, and the Frenchman punishes it! Vinicius played a peach of a delivery that found the run of Mbappe, and the latter held off the pressure from his marker to fire it past Tzolakis.
Two goals in two minutes for Mbappe, and Madrid are ahead! Arda Guler, played through down the flanks by Alexander-Arnold, did most of the work with a terrific ball into the box from the flanks. All Mbappe has to do is head it past Tzolakis from close range, which he does with clinical efficiency.
Big blow for the home side as their goalscorer and best player so far – Chiquinho – has to leave the pitch due to injury concerns. He is replaced by the Iran international Mehdi Taremi.
A seven minute hat-trick from Mbappe!! It's the same blueprint from Los Blancos, as Camavinga floated in a beautiful ball into the box that Mbappe poked into the bottom corner past Tzolakis.
Real Madrid players wheeled away in celebration as Vinicius, set up by Mbappe, put the ball into the back of the net past Tzolakis. However, Michael Oliver, in consultation with VAR, chalks off the goal due to an offside in the build-up.
The second half is underway at Pierus, and the home side have a mountain to climb. One change for both sides, as Olympiacos replace Dani Garcia with Santiago Hezze. Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso brings off Camavinga, and on comes Dani Ceballos.
Game on at Pireus as Taremi cuts down the deficit to just one!! It was a brilliant pass by the half-time substitute Hezze which sets up the Iranian forward, and Taremi then fires it past Lunin from close range. The Madrid bench must be getting a bit nervy now.
Mbappe gets his fourth goal of the night to restore Madrid's two-goal lead. Moments after Vinicius was just about denied by Tzolakis, the Brazilain compounds Olympiacos' woes as he frees Mbappe with a terrific through ball. The Frenchman has the easiest of finishes from close range.
With the match looking like a foregone conclusion, Olympiacos make a double change. Costinha and Gabriel Strefezza come on for the home side to replace Rodinei and Podence. Madrid also make a change, with Brahim Diaz coming on for Asencio – an attacking move from Alonso.
Is there a twist in this tale yet?! Ayoub El Kaabi, who has been quiet all night, gets his name on the scoresheet to suddenly bring the home support to life. Sterfezza played an inch-perfect cross from the flanks, and the Moroccan striker outjumps his marker to heads it past Lunin.
