Referee Slavko Vincic blows the whistle, and the first half is underway at Amsterdam. Ronald Koeman has fielded a slightly altered XI, with Depay coming in to replace Weghorst. Can this changed Dutch side deliver the goods? Stay tuned!
The Dutch side have started the match on the front foot, utilising the width of the pitch. After a good buildup play resulted in a blocked cross by Lahteenmaki, Netherlands had the best chance of the game in the early stages.
Gravenberch and Gakpo link up well down the edge of the box and finds Depay, who floats in a terrific cross. Dumfries does well to get at the end of it, but his header goes just wide.
Netherlands' early pressure has given instant result, and it's Donyel Malen who gets at the end of a ball from Depay to give his side the lead. Brilliant buildup play by the Dutch from the left flank between Kluivert and Depay, resulting in a terrific curling finish from Malen.
Netherlands have doubled their lead, and it's captain Virgil van Dijk with a terrific headed goal. It was simple and precise from the Oranje, with Depay's cross from a free-kick routine finding the Liverpool defender free in the box to plant a solid header into the corner past Joronen.
Netherlands have continued the onslaught on Joronen's goal, with the Palermo keeper pulling out a big save to deny Malen again. It looks like a matter of time before the hosts increase their lead, with five shots so far. Unsurprisingly, Finland are yet to have a shot in the opening 25 minutes.
Malen could have had a hattrick by now. The Aston Villa forward recevied a terrific cross from Gakpo. With just the goalkeeper to beat from close range, his shot went wide of the post. How many more chances can the Oranje afford to keep wasting?
After two assist, Depay finally gets his name on the scoresheet, and what a finish by the ex-Barcelona striker from the penalty spot. Moments after Van Dijk hit the crossbar with a well-taken volley, Netherlands won a penalty after a handball by Tenho. Depay made no mistake from the spot, giving Joronen no chance.
Finland have a sight of goal with their first shot of the game, as Keskinen forced a good save from Verbruggen, who did not have anything to do all day but stood up when it mattered. Netherlands continue to have the lion's share of the ball. Meanwhile, the fourth official indicates a minimum of one minute to be added on.
The referee blows his whistle to bring the first half to a close. It was exhilarating at times from the hosts, but Malen missed a couple of good chances to inflict further damage on their opponents. Can the Finns mount a comeback in the second half? It really looks unlikely at this moment, but with their World Cup progression at stake, do not count them out just yet.
The second half is underway at Amsterdam. One change at the break for Netherlands, with Gravenberch being replaced by Tijjani Reijnders. Can the Oranje add to their tally in the second half? Stay tuned!
Reinjders almost found the back of the net with his first real involvement in the game, but his first-time volley brought out an equally impressive save from Joronen. Netherlands have picked up where they left off in the first half, dominating the attack and having almost 70% of the ball.
Wout Weghorst, who came on a couple of minutes ago along with Jan Paul van Hecke, thought he had increased Netherlands' lead even further after putting the ball in the back of the net. However, his celebration is cut short after he is adjudged to be offside, and the goal is overturned.
Despite the four goals scored, Koeman will surely be mindful of the multiple chances that his side have squandered - including a brilliant headed opportunity for Van Dijk. Finland, meanwhile, are trying to get something as a consolation out of this match. A half-decent move is stitched in front of the Dutch box, but Falta's shot from the edge of the area is neither a shot nor a cross, and goes wide of Verbruggen's goal.
A terrific finish from Gakpo to round off what is turning out to be a rout for the Netherlands. Simmons did well to drop his shoulder and cut inside before laying it off for the Liverpool forward, who took it on to his right before unleashing a fierce strike that found the top corner, giving Jaronen no chance.
Netherlands won a free-kick in a dangerous area, and Kluivert's effort from the dead ball flew just over the crossbar, The Finnish players tried to mount a late push for a consolation goal, but the defence cleared the danger, and Peltota earned a yellow during that move, which means he will miss the next match.
The fourth official holds up his board to indicate a minimum of just one minute to be added at the end of regulation time.
It's all over at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam, and it has been an absolute masterclass in attacking football from the Netherlands. Memphis Depay was the star for the hosts, scoring a goal and assisting two more, and the Dutch are just one step closer to featuring in next year's World Cup.
