The tempo of the game has dropped quite a bit as Russia are happy to cycle possession in their own half. India, meanwhile, are happy to play without the ball, looking to hit the hosts on the counter. The half is yet to open up, really.

The best chance of the game, and it comes to Russia. A good threaded pass finds the run of Sorokina, who takes a first-time shot. However, Munni comes rushing out and makes a good save with her feet.

Russia take the lead just before half-time!! Frolova was just too powerful for Abhista, winning posession near the edge of the box before cutting it back for Menyailova. The Russian attacker takes a weak shot with his right, but it somehow creeps past Munni into the bottom corner.

That was the final action of the half. Russia had 68% ball posession and fie shots, with three on target, compared to just two overall from India. Honestly, it's a bit surprise that it took so long for the hosts to find the back of the net. A big, big half-time talk awaits Pamela Conti.

Both sets of teams are out on the pitch for the second half. The referee blows her whistle, and Russia get the ball rolling. I can see at least four changes by the hosts at the break.

Russia have continued to dominate the ball in the second half as well. A good tee-up on the left saw Dobrovitskaya have an early shot at goal, but Munni grabbed on to the ball. The hosts have continued to control posession since.

Out of nowhere, Russia are awarded a penalty!! Dobrovitskaya is challenged by Divyani and Ezliabed and goes down, and the referee points to the spot. It looks like a really soft call, and Pamela Conti is not pleased. Dobrovitskaya herself steps up to take the resulting spot kick, and finds the bottom corner.

Russia look like they are in control of the game. The hosts win a corner on the left that is floated into the middle of the box. A Russian player gets a head on the ball, but Munni jumps and gathers it. The hosts regain possession immediately.

Another penalty for Russia!! Substitute Klimova skips past a horde of Indian bodies before being tripped by Abhista, and the referee points to the spot. Klimova steps up to take the penalty and makes no mistake, finding the back of the net.

India are pushing hard for a consolation goal, but they are simply unable to breach the Russian defence, which has been strong all day. Just three minutes plus stoppage time for the Young Tigresses to get something out of the match.

It goes from bad to worse as Russia add another goal. A ball from the right by captain Kuznetsova is headed back by a striker towards Gulyayeva, who takes a first-time shot that finds the back of the net.

Meanwhile, the Indian bench are not pleased, with Pamela Conti complaining animatedly to the referee. Seems like India are claiming an offside offence? On replays, it looks like a clear offside. It doesn't matter, as the goal stands.

After a couple of minutes in stoppage time, the referee blows her whistle to bring the match to an end. It has been a really disappointing performance from India, who failed to control the ball for any stretch of the contest, giving Russia free reign on the pitch to score goals.
