All the three Premier League matches have kicked off. Stay tuned for live updates from the Saturday Goal Rush fixtures.
We are in the opening 10 minutes of the three games, and we have witnessed two brilliant saves. First, Pope pulled off a stunner to deny Hinshelwood from the edge of the box. Then, Kelleher sprung into action to deny a powerful effort by West Ham's Pablo.
Osula puts Newcastle ahead against the run of play! Moments after Belaba struck the post at the opposite end, the Magpies come foward in numbers. Murphy does well to float in an inch-perfect cross from the right after surviving a challegne from Verbruggen, and Osula heads it into an empty net from close range.
Kayode puts Brentford ahead! Turns out it's an own goal by Mavropanos. Kayode should get the credit for the goal, as he did well to hit the post after a cross from the left. The Italian gets hold of the rebound, and finds the back of the net after a massive deflection of Mavropanos.
Mukiele finds the back of the net to put Sunderland ahead! The Black Cats made a good start to the match, and finally have something to show for it. It's all due to a brilliant cross from the right by Xhaka, and Mukiele meets it at the far corner with a powerful header that goes past Bentley.
Mavropanos makes up for his unfortunate own goal by equalising for West Ham in just six minutes! Wait, looks like it won't count. Malick Diouf floated in the cross from the flanks, and the Greek centre-back headed it home, but he was marginally offside.
Burn heads it past Verbruggen to double Newcastle's lead! Bruno Guimaraes floats in a good corner that perfectly picks out Burn at the near post, and the big defender heads it home from close range.
Sunderland go down to 10 men after Ballard is shown a straight red card. VAR asks Paul Tierney to take a look at the incident where he pulled Arokodare's hair, and he is sent off for violent conduct.
Hermansen keeps West Ham in the game with a stunning save to deny Lewis-Potter. The full-back met a cross from the flanks, and Hermansen gets a hand on it before Walker-Peters clears the danger away.
It is half-time in all three of the Premier League Saturday Goal Rush matches:
Brentford 1-0 West Ham
Newcastle 2-0 Brighton
Wolves 0-1 Sunderland (🔴)
In the second tier, Ipswich Town joined Coventry City as the second team to earn automatic promotion to the Premier League. The Blues sealed a 3-0 win over Queens Park Rangers. Millwall, Southampton, Middlesbrough, and Hull City have qualified for the play-offs and will fight for the one remaining spot. Meanwhile, Wrexham drew 2-2 with Middlesborough, which means they missed out on qualification.
The second half has started in the three Premier League Saturday Goal Rush matches. Newcastle currently lead 2-0 against Brighton, while both Brentford and Sunderland are ahead in their respective games.
Penalty for Brentford!! Malick Diouf is the guilty party, catching Ouattara with a mistimed sliding tackle. Igor Thiago steps up to take the spot kick and makes no mistake, sending Hermansen the wrong way.
Santiago Bueno equalises for Wolves!! Hugo Bueno floats in a cross that is met by Santi at the far post, who heads it in from close range. However, looks like there's a VAR check going on for a possible foul in the build-up. The goal stands.
Hinshelwood has been Brighton's best player tonight, and he pulls one back for the Seagulls. Welbeck tees up Hinshelwood inside the box, and the latter goes past Thiaw and pulls the trigger with his left to beat Pope.
A huge save by Roefs to keep Sunderland level in the match. Gomes makes a darting run forward before cutting it back for Mane, and the youngster fires a rocket shot from 20 yards away that brings out a stunning save from Roefs.
Damsgaard adds a late third goal for Brentford! Lewis-Potter keeps the move alive for the Bees, and he cuts it back for Damsgaard, whose curling shots beat the reach of Hermansen and finds the bottom corner.
Barnes gets a late goal to put the contest to bed for Newcastle. Verbruggen denies Wissa from close range, but the ball lands perfectly into the path of Barnes, who fires it into the back of the net.
It's full time in all the three Premier League matches:
Brentford 3-0 West Ham (Mavropanos 15' OG, Thiago 54' PEN, Damsgaard 82')
Newcastle 3-1 Brighton (Osula 12', Burn 24', Barnets 90+6; Hinshelwood 61')
Wolves 1-1 Sunderland (Santiago Bueno 54'; Mukiele 17')
