Egypt Vs Iran, FIFA World Cup 2026 In Pics: Mamoud Saber Sends Pharaohs Marching Into Knockouts
Egypt Vs Iran Match Gallery, FIFA World Cup 2026: The opening 15 minutes of the match were packed with action as Egypt struck first through Mahmoud Saber in the fifth minute before Iran responded with an equaliser through Ramin Rezaeian just nine minutes later. Iran thought they had snatched the winner in stoppage time, but the goal was eventually ruled out by the referee. The draw was enough to send the Pharaohs into the knockout stage, although they slipped to second place after Belgium secured a dominant 5-1 victory over New Zealand in their final group fixture to finish at the top of Group G. Meanwhile, Iran ended in third place and will now wait to learn their fate through the standings of the best third-placed teams.
