Meanwhile, Kerala Blasters FC suffered their fourth consecutive defeat, going down 0-1 to Chennaiyin FC at Kochi. The Yellow Army remain 13th in the table without a point. East Bengal FC will aim to dictate the tempo and capitalise on their passionate home support, while Kerala Blasters must sharpen their finishing to end their barren run. With both teams desperate for three crucial points, the clash in Kolkata promises to be a fiercely contested affair.

Ahead of taking the position, players and the spectators follow one minute of silence in the memory of late AIFF general secretary Kushal Das.

The match is underway and East Bengal take the possession of the ball and try to build up from the left side. At home, they need to secure all three points and they are showing intent from the start.

East Bengal lead in the first ten minutes of the game. Youssef Ezzejjari was tripped from behind by Fallou Ndiaye and referee Harish Kundu pointed to the spot. Ezzejjari himself went to take the spotkick and converted it comfortably.

East Bengal keep dominating possession. They almost created another chance for Youssef Ezzejjari. The Blasters defender went for the tackle and the ball deflected to the on-rushing Saul Crespo, whose first-time shot went over the bar. Muhammad Ajsal, on the other end, also got a half-chance but failed to convert.

Miguel Ferreira fails to put the shot on target after being released in behind. The last ten minutes saw Kerala Blasters go back in the back. A cross from the right wing almost found a Blasters player at the end of it. Kevin Yoke has also been a menace for them on the left side.

Kerala Blasters are the side on the front foot here. They have created a few chances but none of them ended up to be a clear cut opportunity. Kevin Yoke put in a through ball but Muhammad Ajsal was not ready or it and was capped offside. Danish Farooq also missed an attempt. East Bengal will have to control the midfield to hold on to the lead.

The first half ended with East Bengal missing a chance to double their lead. Mohammad Basim Rashid found himself open on the right side of the channel and had the opportunity to take a shy at the goal. Couldn't connect properly and the ball sailed over the post. With it, the referee drew the half to an end.

East Bengal started the second half on front foot. They are looking to inject some momentum they missed in the late first half. Two corners earned in a matter of minutes and they are looking to double the lead soon to put Kerala Blasters under further pressure.

Boh sides look to create chances but it is East Bengal who got the nearest. Edmund Lalrindika's through ball from the left side bounces over the feet of on rushing Youssef Ejjezzari. The ball curls in to his path but he didn't manage to trap the ball and shoot, which would put him open in front of the goal. Meanwhile, Blasters look to create through Kevin Yoke.

Two big chances for Kerala Blasters but they fail to get the equaliser through them. They got the left side working and first, Naocha Singh's shot was saved by Prabhsukhan Gill. Another attack saw Muhammad Ajsal come in touching distance of the goal but failed to get the tap in. East Bengal lead with 20 minutes to go in regulation time.

Jay Gupta's header from very close range is close but misses the top left corner. Assisted by Miguel Figueira with a cross following a corner. Kerala Blasters are attempting to get near the goal but they have failed to open the face of the goal so far. Regulation time nearing the end.

Kerala Blasters score from a set piece. A brilliant corner comes in from the right and Muhammad Ajsal rises over Souvik Chakraborty to find the net. They have been resilient despite the pressure from East Bengal and yet they were able to score the equaliser in the dying minutes. East Bengal will be gutted to not convert their earlier chances.

The hosts started the match on the front-foot and scalped the goal through a penalty on the 10th minute. Despite scoring the goal, East Bengal started to fade away from the game and Kerala Blasters grew in the game riding on Kevin Yoke.

East Bengal returned strongly into the game into the second half, but Kerala Blasters held their ground this time. The hosts retained their lead till the added time, but Muhammad Ajsal snatched two points from the Red & Gold Brigade by scoring from a corner.
