Cape Verde Vs Saudi Arabia, FIFA World Cup 2026: Blue Sharks Secure Historic Knockout Spot After Gritty Stalemate
Cape Verde Vs Saudi Arabia, FIFA World Cup 2026: Cape Verde became the smallest nation to qualify for the FIFA World Cup knockouts following a scoreless stalemate against Saudi Arabia in a crucial FIFA World Cup 2026 Group H encounter on Saturday, 27 June, at NRG Stadium, currently known as Houston Stadium. It was the Blue Sharks' third consecutive draw, and it became only the third African nation to qualify for FIFA World Cup knockouts without losing any match in the group stage. Cape Verde's performance in the competition is highly praiseworthy as the small African island nation, which is playing their debut World Cup, held 2010 champions Spain to a scoreless stalemate in their opener and then came from behind to play a 2-2 draw against Uruguay. They will now be up against the defending champions, Argentina, in the round of 32.
