KICK OFF!
Manchester City begin with the ball and we are underway in Brighton.
9' City get the first shot of the evening but it is a very soft one from Erling Haaland. Easy collection for Sanchez in the Brighton goal and City get a shot on target, although a very weak one.
22' City have looked a little threatening at times but overall so far in the first 20 minutes, both sides have played safe football and lost the ball in the midfield to each other. Slow start to the game for both sides.
26'Almost a goal for City! A header fro the edge of the six-year box from Haaland and a timely intervention by the Brighton goalkeeper Sanchez comes in between the ball and goalline. We are still goalless in this encounter but this was the closest any team has come to scoring this evening.

Erling Haaland fires the opener. Marmoush with a light touch inside the six yard box as defenders pile up on him and Haaland is alert to find the ball right in the front of the goalkeeper who the City strikes beats with ease. City have their first goal of the evening.
Three minutes of added time done and players are now walking back to the tunnel for the half-time break. A good start for City and they are 1-0 ahead. Brighton have been poor in the midfield so far.
Second half begins. City are leading 1-0 and they have threatened to be even more dangerous while Brighton have struggled so far to make significant attacks.
60' Very, very close. Manchester City could have doubled their lead thanks to this amazing link-up display between their forward three. A beautiful grounded cross for Oscar Bob who has to stretch himself to get a foot on the ball but cannot keep on target.
Brighton 1-1 Manchester City
We are back on level terms. Brighton get a penalty and James Milner keeps his calm to send the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-1. City should be disappointed.
89' Brighton 2-1 Manchester City
Brighton come back to take the lead. The game has turned on its head and this goal felt coming for the past 10 minutes now. Brighton were aggressive and now they get the dividends for their work. Brajan Gruda is the scorer. Brilliant calmness from him under pressure. He was too close to the goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation as a defender also came up to double up. But Gruda kept his cal and beaat both of them to fire the goal in an empty net.
