Brentford have overloaded the midfield, trying to cut off any service to Haaland in the early stages. Kayode was too strong in his tackle and gave away a foul, but for now, City have been forced to go wide in search of spaces to work with.

Haaland scoring is just inevitable at this point, considering his form of late. A decent ball from Gvardiol bounced favourably for Haaland, and he used his strength to hold off two Brentford defenders before finishing coolly to find the far corner.

A massive blow for Man City, as Rodri goes down in pain, and his facial expression is not positive. Seems like his evening is over, and Guardiola is forced to bring on Nico Gonzalez in his place. With the visitors looking ever threatening in the moments before, will Brentford use this to their advantage?

Despite the loss of Rodri, Manchester City have continued their stranglehold on this match. Brentford are yet to have a shot away with half-an-hour of football played, and almost conceded another as Bobb almost played the perfect pass inside the box to Foden.

Man City have their best chance since the goal as Reijnders finds himself at the end of a very good cross. The Dutchman hits a sweet strike goalwards, but Kelleher is up to the task, making an instinctive stop to keep the scoreline manageable for the hosts.

The fourth official holds up his board and indicates a minimum of two minutes to be added on at the end of the first half. Guardiola will be desperately hoping that his side can add one more goal before the break, considering their utter dominance in the first half.

Darren Englnad blows the half-time whistle, and Man City are one goal ahead at half-time. Brentford, despite going a goal down early on, will be satisfied after preventing any more damage, despite the complete domination of the ball by the Mancunians.

The referee blows his whistle, and the second half is underway at the Getch Community Stadium. No half-time changes for either side as far as I can see.

Kayode is on the attack immediately, but the move fizzles out quickly. Still, much more positive for Brentford.

The best chance of the game for Brentford, and it comes from a quick conterattacking move from the Bees. After half-hearted shouts of penalty on the other end, the hosts clear, and Gvardiol misjudges the bounce of the ball which falls to Thiago. The Brazilian runs with the ball, but Donnarumma makes himself big and saves the resulting shot with... his face!

Much, much better from Brentford in the second half. They are using the width masterfully, and Kayode has been at the heart of it. The Italian finds himself at the end of an inch-perfect cross inside the box, but his header goes over the bar. Keith Andrews will surely bring on Dango Ouattara sooner rather than later.

A cutback from Yarmolyuk goes to Henderson, and he plays a peach of a delivery into the box. However, no Brentford player is on the save wavelength and fail to get at the end of it. Keith Andrews makes a double change, bringing on Mathias Jensen and Dango Ouattara, replacing Damsgaard and Thiago.

Another double change for Brentford. Yarmolyuk went down in some discomfort, and his outing is over as he is replaced by Frank Onyeka. Henderson comes off as well as Vitaly Janelt replaces him in midfield. 17 minutes and stoppage time for Brentford to find an equaliser.

Since the introduction of Jeremy Doku, City are utilising the wings more, with Savinho enjoying the increased freedom down the right flank. However, there is a distinct lack of creativity in the final third from Guardiola's side, and Kelleher is yet to be put under any kind of pressure in the second half.

Despite most of the attacks coming from Brentford's direction, City have regained some control of the match - barring one lucky escape for Donnarumma. The Italian dwelled on the ball for too long, and his release hit the legs of Schade. Luckily for City, the ball goes wide, but Brentford get a corner, which comes to nothing. Meanwhile, the fourth official holds up his board, indicating a minimum of four minutes to be added on.

The referee blows the final whistle, and that's that at the Gtech Community Stadium. Brentford showed heart and fought back valiantly in the second half, but could not find an equaliser. Haaland's early goal is enough for Pep Guardiola to seal his 250th win in the Premier League.
