Belgium 1-1 Egypt: Lukaku Impact Denies Pharaohs World Cup History; See How Seattle Clash Ended In Stalemate

Belgium Vs Egypt Match Photos, FIFA World Cup 2026: Belgium and Egypt played out an intense yet frustrating 1-1 draw in their Group G opener at Seattle Stadium on Monday (June 15). Emam Ashour opened the scoring for the Pharaohs in the 19th minute, a screamer, following an assist from Mohamed Salah. In the 66th minute, substitute Romelu Lukaku made an instant impact by forcing an own goal from Mohamed Hany to rescue a point for the Red Devils. Belgium's "Golden Generation" peaked with a third-place finish in 2018, whereas seven-time African champions Egypt have never won a World Cup match across their four tournament appearances. Both teams now sit level in Group G alongside Iran and New Zealand, who face off later. Up next, Belgium face New Zealand in Inglewood, while Egypt will travel to Canada for a meeting with Iran in Vancouver. Both matches are scheduled for June 21.
