Oh no!! A brilliant flick back from Gnabry found Karl, and the youngster pounced on it, shooting with his left to find the back fo the net past a diving Rui Silva. The flag goes up immediately against Kane, though, and it won't count.

Sporting are chasing shadows at the moment. A long ball from Kimmich is headed back towards the middle by Gnabry. It was just a bit high for Kane to get a header on. It fell to Karl, but was a tad bit high as well, and his shot bounced over the crossbar.

Gnabry has been one of the best players on the pitch in the first half. The German winger cuts inside from the left and has a curling effort despited for the far post, but Silva made a diving save, getting a strong hand to parry it behind for a corner.

Out of nothing, Sporting create one of the best moments of the match! A brilliant cross from Catamo from the right almost found the toe of Luis Suarez. Tah came sliding in to unnerve the Colombian, but got a deflection that sent it goalwards. Neuer was alert and grabbed on to it to prevent an embarassing own goal.

Another rapid-fire break from Sporting has the Bayern backline worried. A terrific first-time cross from the left from Araujo is cleared behind by Stanisic, who was aware of Luis Suarez rushing inside to meet the ball.

Bayern come forward at the other end. Kane brights out his inner Ibrahimovic to dummy a couple of defenders before shooting with his left. It beats Silva, but crashes against the post and goes behind.

Lennart Karl took on two defenders before having a shot, but Silva somehow managed to get a strong hand on it to keep it out. Olise then had a crack at goal, but it flew wide of the post. Despite the relentless Bayern attack, Sporting hold their own in Munich, and go into the break with the deadlock intact.

The referee blows his whistle, and Sporting CP get the second half underway. No half-time changes for either side as far as I can see.

Having soaked up so much pressure all night, Sporting take the lead through an own goal from Kimmich. Brilliant work from Joao Simoes, with the midfielder taking on Tah before cutting it across the face of goal. Kimmich tried to intervene, but instead deflected it into the back of his own net.

Gnabry equalises for Bayern!! It all happens from a well-worked corner routine. Sporting overload the box with defenders, but no one pays any attention to Gnabry, who arrives late at the far post. Olise's delivery finds him completely unmarked, and the German finds the back of the net.

Absolutely stunning goal from Karl, and Bayern turn the game around. Tah wins the ball in the Sporting half. Olise plays it to Laimer on the right, who finds the run of Karl. The youngster takes a brilliant first touch before firing it past two defenders and the goalkeeper to find the roof of the night.

Bayern are enjoying themselves at the moment. Three goals in 11 minutes from the home side. A well-worked set-piece is floated into the box by Kimmich. His delivery towards the back post is headed back down by Gnabry. Tah poked it with his right foot, past a stationery Silva, and into the back of the net.

Less than 10 mintues of regulation time to play now. Tonight's headlines will belong to the 17-year-old Lennart Karl, whose stunning finish put Bayern ahead. He was pulled off in the 77th minute, but what a talent he is for the future!

Also, did you know, that had this been a late-night kick-off, we might not have seen him on the pitch at all? German labour laws do not allow athletes below 18 years of age to play past 11:00 PM without their employer club receiving a hefty fine. Credit to UEFA for the early kick-off!

Bayern Munich make a triple change. Alphonso Davies return to the pitch after 262 days, replacing Gnabry. Hiroki Ito and Loren Goretzka also come on, replacing Stanisic and Pavlovic.

There was barely any attacking forays from either side in the closing stages of the match. Vincent Kompany's side are back to winning ways in the Champions League, while Sporting suffer an expected defeat in Munich.
