Overall, in the 213 matches played between both sides, Arsenal lead with 100 wins compared to City's 65. The remaining 48 matches have ended in draws.

Backed by a loud and proud group of supporters who are making themselves head, Arsenal come out on the pitch against City. The away side get the match underway, but are immediately pressed by the Gunners.

Arsenal are bossing the ball in the early stages of the game, having 77% possession. However, there's yet to be any attacking threat other than an inviting run from Madueke that Gvardiol cut out intelligently. The visitors, for now, are not troubled too much.

What a perfect start from Pep Guardiola's team!! Despite having very little of the ball, City win the ball in thier own half. Reijnders runs at least thirty yards with the ball before picking up Haaland's run on the right. The Norweigian takes it and finds the far corner with a calm finish with his right foot. First shot from City, and first goal.

Arsenal have kept up the high tempo of the match, seeking an equaliser. However, Donnarumma is earning the wrath of the home support after taking just a little bit long with his wickets. The Italian is walking a tight rope with his time wasting tactics.

Reijners picked the pocket of Merino and worked his way into the edge of the box before taking a snap shot at goal. Raya does very well to good down in time and hold on to the ball, with Haaland lurking around.

Arsenal are looking more lethal now. Noni Madueke has been a constant threat down the right, and he works his way past the full-back before cutting back across the face of goal. It evades everyone in a red shirt, but the Gunners are knocking on the door.

Bernardo Silva earns the first yellow card of the match after a completely unneccesary and late challenge on Gabriel. Four fouls from City so far, and none from the home side.

Arsenal are pushing hard for an equaliser before the half-time whistle. A gorgeous ball from the right flank by Timbers looked dangerous, but none of his teammates had made an anticipatory run, and City somehow clear. The City full-backs are looking shaky.

The referee blows the half-time whistle, and City lead one-nil courtesy of Haaland's early goal. Madueke has been, by far, the best player for Arsenal, and forced a good save from Donnarumma in the first minute of injury time. However, the hosts are yet to get a proper sight of goal.

Arsenal make a double change at half-time, bringing on Bukayo Saka (who has the armband) and Eberechi Eze. Surprisingly, Noni Madueke is brought off, and is Mikel Merino. Arteta will hope that the added pace will finally get the better of the City defenders in the second half. Man City brings on Matheus Nunes in place of the injured Khusanov at right back.

Arsenal's best chance of the match so far! The ball is played to Saka on the right, and his first touch is brilliant before the cross into the box almost finds Gyokeres. City's clearance falls to Zubimendi just outside the box. The Spaniard has an ambitious go at goal, and it flies JUST wide over the bar.

A slip from Nunes in his half gave Arsenal the chance to run with the ball. Zubimendi played it to Saka, who cut inside and had a shot at goal that was blocked. The rebound fell to Zubimendi who went for the spectucular, but missed, and City clear the danger.

What an incredible display of counter attacking football from Man City! After defending a corner, Doku ran away with the ball down the left flank before playing a sumptous ball to find Haaland's run. The Norweigian run into the box and shot towards the near post, but Raya made the save. Eze tried to clear the loose ball but ended up hitting it against Rice, and luckily for him, it went over the bar for a corner.

Arsenal are patient in their build up, trying to carve open even the tiniest bit of space in between the City defence line. However, Pep Guardiola's side are compact, giving the Gunners no space to work in at all, despite having 70% of the ball in the second half.

City have replaced Foden with Nathan Ake, a defensive change. This is a very different performance from the Cityzens. They are happy to dig deep, often with 11 players behind the ball, happy to play without the ball and looking to counter. This is not Pep Guardiola's tactics at all, but rather one popularised by his arch-rival Jose Mourinho.

Another defensive change from Pep, bringing on Nico Gonzalez in place of Haaland. Meanwhile, Donnarumma earns a yellow card for time wasting - something that has been coming from the first minute, really.

Brilliant play by Reijnders and Doku, and the Belgian cuts inside the box and tried to find the far corner from an acute angle. The shot beat Raya but was not goalbound, and Silva kept it alive. Arsenal win posession and almost find Gyokeres with a long ball, but Donnarumma was alert and cleared the danger.

Doku hurt himself trying to score, and O'Reilly also goes down after a collission with his own teammate.

Arsenal are desperately pushing for an equaliser. The fourth official holds up his board, indicating a minimum of seven of minutes to be added on, bringing on a cheer from the Emirates crowd.

What a finish from Gabriel Martinelli!! A brilliant run from the Brazilian which deserved a goal at the end of it. A superb ball from Eze near the half-way line finds Martinelli, who timed his run perfectly. Donnarumma had come forward, finding himself in no man's land, and Martinelli chipped it over the Italian to find the far corner.

Stuart Attwell blows the full-time whistle, and it's relief more than anything else at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal's unbeaten run against City stretches to six games now, and they late it so very late to grab the equaliser tonight. It was worth the wait, with Martinelli's finish one that will be talked about for some time now.
