Good evening and welcome, everyone. Saudi Pro League giants Al-Nassr are taking on Iraq's Al-Zawraa in the AFC Champions League Two tonight, with one round of 16 spot from Group D still undecided. Stay with us for the build-up and live updates.
The match kicks off at 9:30pm IST. The Al-Nassr vs Al-Zawraa, AFC Champions League Two 2025-26 match will be live streamed on the FanCode app and website in India. It will not be telecast on any TV channel in the country.
The big news is that Al-Nassr skipper and global football icon Cristiano Ronaldo is playing tonight. He's starting for the Saudi giants to boot; check out their line-up:
Al-Zawraa line-up: Jalal Hassan; Kadhim Raad Mohammed, Bajad M., Akam Hashem, H. Falah; Nasib, Hassan, Karar Nabel, Nizar Mahmoud Al-Rashdan; Mahdi Al-Humaidan, Ibrahim Tomiwa.
Play commences in Riyadh. The Ronaldo-led Al-Nassr kicking from right to left and Al-Zawraa the other way in the first half. With Ronaldo having rested in the previous two ACL 2 games, it would be interesting to see if he goes all out tonight.
Al-Nassr go ahead in the 12th minute! A nifty move in the box from the hosts leads to a dangerous pass to Kingsley Coman, who comes up with a clinical finishing touch. Ronaldo high-fives Coman and the Saudi heavyweights are up and running.
And another one! Al-Nassr are in the mood for a goal-rich night as they double their lead in the 19th minute. A stray ball falls to Wesley, who makes no mistake and the scoreline becomes 2-0. Al-Zawraa have their backs against the wall already.
Three to the good! Al-Nassr are on a rampage as they triple their lead in the 29th minute, effectively shutting Al-Zawraa out. Joao Felix delivers the cross and Abdulelah Al-Amri brilliantly heads it in, a glancing nod that zooms towards the far post.
Cristiano Ronaldo in the act! The Portuguese legend comes up with a delightful chip that loops up for Joao Felix to pounce on, and put just enough on the ball to send it into the back of the net at the stroke of half-time. The demolition job continues.
After a couple of minutes of added time, the referee blows the first half whistle. Al-Zawraa are in real danger of missing a round of 16 spot. Though FC Istiklol trail FC Goa 0-1 at half-time, they could well turn the tide in the second half and if that happens, the goal difference would come into play.
Cristiano Ronaldo is subbed off before the start of the second half, with fellow striker Mohammed Maran coming in for him. Al-Nassr kicking from left to right and Al-Zawraa the other way now.
Ibrahim Gbadamosi gets Al-Zawraa on the board. The Nigerian forward comes up with a powerful shot from his right foot to beat the Al-Nassr goalie and pull one back for the visitors. This goal could go a long way, as far as round of 16 qualification is concerned.
Normal services resume from Al-Nassr. They respond to Al-Zawraa's opening goal with their fifth of the night, as Kingsley Coman scores his second in the 56th. The Saudi giants again have a four-goal lead, while Istiklol have taken a 2-1 lead against FC Goa in Margao.
Al-Zawraa currently have a goal difference of -3, while Istiklol's GD is -6. So the Iraqi club still has a decent cushion in the last few moments of both Group D games, and unless a 10-man Istiklol can do something drastic against FC Goa, they will be eliminated alongside the Indian club and the Iraqi outfit would go through.
The final whistle is blown and Al-Nassr emerge thumping 5-1 victors. Al-Zawraa had a disappointing night, but have managed to clinch a round of 16 berth nevertheless. They go through ahead of Istiklol, who won 2-1 against FC Goa but couldn't better their goal difference enough, from Group D.
