Anderlecht are rarely getting anything going forward. Angulo had the chance to put the ball into the box from the corner, but his cross is cleared without much trouble by the defence.

Anderlecht are trying to push ahead of late, and Llansana has a rare attempt at goal for the visitors from long range. However, it's straight at Strakosha, and the goalkeeper has no trouble gathering it with ease. A shot on target for Anderlecht, which will be positive news.

Pineda had the chance to add a third goal for the home side, having a low shot from inside the box, but Coosemans is alert and does well to get down and keep it out. Anderlecht are barely hanging on at the moment. 13 shots from AEK, compared to just five from Anderlecht.

Just four minutes into the second half, and AEK Athens double their lead through Dereck Kutesa. It's a good team effort from the hosts, and the Swiss forward finishes it well to beat the goalkeeper. Anderlecht have a mountain to climb now.

Both sets of players are out on the pitch, and the referee blows his whistle to get the second half underway. A big 45 minutes ahead as Anderlecht will try to get the equaliser.

Three changes for the visitors. Ludwig Augustinsson, Adriano Bertaccini, and Yari Verschaeren come on in places of Huerta, Ozcan, and De Cat.

Not a lot of chances in tonight's game, but AEK took advantage of their one shot on target, with Koita converting it with a calm and composed finish. As a result, AEK Athens go into the break with a one-goal advantage.

The tempo of the game had dropped a little bit, but Aboubakary Koita gives the home side lead with a well-taken effort. AEK were dominating the ball as of late, and they exploit the gap in defence as Eliasson links up with Koita, and the latter finds the back of the net with a powerful effort.

Kutesa increases the shot count with a wild effort from distance, but it flies over the bar. Meanwhile, Anderlecht have two yellow cards in quick succession, as Dolberg and Huerta get booked for a couple of late tackles.

The attacking impetus has increased a bit, and Anderlecht had a good chance to get ahead through Huerta. The Mexican found himself with acres of space and under no pressure, but his shot towards the bottom corner brings out a very good save from Strakosha.

Meanwhile, AEK are pushing ahead, with Eliasson forcing a corner from a good cross into the box. However, it comes to nothing.

After a strong start from Anderlecht, the match has settled down a bit, with both teams sharing the ball pretty evenly. Koita had the chance to have a shot at goal, but his effort was way over the bar. A positive start from both teams, looking to get an early breakthrough.
