Mitchell Marsh hailed an "outstanding effort with the ball" from Australia after they moved 4-0 to the good in their T20 series with the West Indies.

The Baggy Greens recorded their fourth straight win following a three-wicket victory over their hosts in Basseterre.

West Indies set Australia a target of 206 as they became the first team in T20I history to register a tally of 200 without anyone scoring more than 34, with Sherfane Rutherford's 31 the highlight of their innings.

Glenn Maxwell, who also made two catches, kick-started the chase with 47 off 18 balls, while Josh Inglis continued the tourists' momentum with 51 from 30 deliveries.

Despite Jediah Blades taking three wickets to briefly stop Australia in their tracks, Cameron Green's unbeaten 55 off 35 was enough to get them over the line with four balls to spare.

"I think it was an all-round really good effort," Marsh said. "To take a few early wickets, teams like the West Indies - with how deep they bat - we knew that they were going to come hard the whole innings, which they did.

"But, I thought the way we were able to navigate some tricky overs and keep taking wickets, I feel 230 is probably par on that. I thought it was an outstanding effort with the ball."

"I put a lot of emphasis on my fielding," Maxwell added. "I think it's one of the things that I've always held a high regard for in the way I prepare for any series, any team that I'm playing for.

"To make sure that I'm adding something different to the team, regardless of whether I'm batting or bowling, is, I think, one of the most important things."

The series concludes at Werner Park on Tuesday with the West Indies looking to avert a second whitewash in as many months, having suffered the same fate against England in June.

"We understand how difficult it is to defend a score here," Shai Hope said. "The way the Aussies have been batting, I think we need a little bit more runs to cushion our bowling performances.

"But maybe, we didn't assess as well as we could have. That's something that we still need to look at going into the last game.

"We always understand or we kind of neglect the importance of strong fielding performances, especially when the ball is flying all over the place.

"You've got to ensure that you're putting your body on the line, taking those crucial chances because that can be the deciding factor of who wins and who loses. So it's something that we may have let ourselves down in a sense."
