West Indies Vs Scotland, ICC T20 World Cup 2026: 2-Time Champions Register Easy 35-Run Victory At Eden Gardens
West Indies defeated Scotland by 35 runs in their opening ICC T20 World Cup 2026 encounter at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Batting first, the Windies posted a competitive 182/5, thanks to Shimron Hetmyer’s explosive 64 off 36 balls. Hetmyer entered record books by smashing a 22-ball half-century, which is the fastest ever by a West Indian in T20 World Cup history. Scotland showed grit in their chase, reaching 115/3 behind Richie Berrington’s 42. However, the match turned in the 17th over when Romario Shepherd produced a historic hat-trick, finishing with figures of 5/20.
