Shamar Joseph is confident that West Indies can chase down a total of 200 in their third Test against Australia.
The hosts currently trail by 181 runs, with Cameron Green (45 not out) providing a vital knock for Australia.
Green will start day three in the middle with captain Pat Cummins (five not out) after Shamar Joseph (2-26) and Alzarri Joseph (3-19) rattled through the Australia top order to leave them 99-6.
West Indies were bowled out earlier in the day for 143, with John Campbell (36) the only player to pass the 30-run mark. Scott Boland (3-34) was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors.
Cummins survived late on despite gloving a delivery from Alzarri Joseph to wicketkeeper Shai Hope, as half-hearted appeals from the home side were not followed with a review.
Day two at Sabina Park saw a total of 15 wickets, the second-most of any day throughout this series, and Shamar Joseph was pleased to see that West Indies can continue their legacy of elite seam bowling.
He told ESPN: “We wanted seven wickets. We got six wickets. So I'm actually pleased with that performance.
West Indies have a great legacy of fast bowlers. Our young generation just want to continue it and do our best.”
The main target for West Indies at the start of day three will be to remove Green as soon as possible. Shamar Joseph believes they are capable of chasing down a total of around 200 runs.
“I actually think anything under 200, to 200 we definitely could chase that.”
