Smriti Mandhana and Grace Harris open the batting for RCB, and it’s a flying start as Harris crunches four boundaries early on.
That one will sting. Kashvee Gautam bends it back sharply, the big inswinger crashing into Grace Harris’ back pad. No bat involved, impact bang in line and the ball just clipping leg stump, the finger goes up.
Harris departs after a blazing start, and RCB will feel this one, because a few more overs from her could have blown the powerplay wide open. Grace Harris lbw Kashvee Gautam for 17 off 8 balls, with four boundaries.
RCB are wobbling, and badly. Kashvee Gautam strikes again as Hemalatha looks to hook a short ball, only to pick out short fine leg. Debutant Shivani Singh moves swiftly to her right and pulls off a superb one-handed catch, announcing herself in style. Moments later, the big blow arrives.
Renuka Singh tempts Smriti Mandhana with a pitched-up delivery outside off, a hint of movement away, and the drive flies straight off the edge. Rajeshwari dives to her right at short third to complete a sharp catch.
RCB had raced to 23 in the opening over, but since then it’s been a collapse, three wickets inside the powerplay, momentum gone, and Mandhana’s struggles against the Giants continue.
Finally, some hard hitting from Radha Yadav, with the RCB batting line-up showing some fire. Richa Ghosh, who came on after the wicket of Naik, is taking her time at the other end, so Radha goes after Wareham, hitting a boundary and a six to take RCB over the 50-run mark.
Wareham fights back!! The spinner was repeatedly targeted by Radha Yadav, who used her wrists to hit a boundary through backward point. The spinner then traps Radha on the pads, and her loud appeals result in the umpire's finger going up. RCB review the call, but ball tracking shows that it's going down leg-side, and Radha survives!
The RCB batters have switched gears, with both getting a boundary off Renuka. That gives a confidence boost to what has been a solid partnership, and Radha and Richa add maximums to their tally in the next two overs.
A blinder of an innings so far from Radha Yadav, who reaches her maiden WPL half-century off 36 balls, reaching the milestone with a six off Devine. There's a big smile on Radha's face, and the dugout appreciates that. How close to 200 can RCB go from here?
A massive wicket for Gujarat Giants, as Gardner takes the catch to dismiss Richa Ghosh. With Yadav opening the over with a bounday, Richa attempted to follow suite, but got under the ball a bit. The ball went high, but could not clear the fence, being taken easily by the GG skipper.
Oh Gardner, what did you do!! Nadine de Klerk hit Kashvee for a six and four, but this time, she got more height than distance. It was an easy catch for Gardner at long-on, but it went straight through her hands. The batter thanks the Giants by hitting one more four and six. 22 runs from the penultimate over.
What a terrific last over from Sophie Devine, who gave away just four runs and clinched the crucial wickets of Radha Yadav and de Klerk. That said, RCB will be very happy about crossing 180, considering they were struggling at 43/4 at one stage.
Beth Mooney looks like she is in the mood to go big tonight, hitting two boundaries in the first two overs, with Devine also getting a four off Smith. a good start from the Giants.
A terrific over from Arundhati, with just three runs conceded while RCB got their first breakthrough, dismissing the dangerous Sophie Devine. The Aussie wanted to hit it out of the park, but the shorter ball hit the top of the bat and came back straight. Arundhati showed excellent reaction to hold on to the return! Kanika Ahuja is the new batter.
What a terrific review taken by Shreyanka to dismiss Beth Mooney! There was a huge LBW shout, but the umpire is not impressed as it looked like it was missing leg stump. The bowler urges Mandhana to take the review, and ball tracking shows it hitting the stumps!!
Another wicket for Lauren Bell, and it's skipper Gardner who departs for just three. The pacer gets an outside edge as Gardner attempted a big hit, and Richa Ghosh grabs the ball easily. RCB on the ascendancy now. Georgia Wareham walks out to bat.
de Klerk nudges a single to Fulmali, driving a length ball outside off to sweeper cover for one run.
Arundhati drops it short and slower, and Kanwar latches on, a crisp cut through the gap sends it racing to the boundary for four.
What a way to wrap up the win for RCB, with Shreyanka clinching the first fifer of her WPL career, and the second one of this season. Tanuja and Renuka's scalps takes her to 5/23, and the Royal Challengers have won by 32 runs.
