For Rajasthan Royals, it's about restoring pride and playing spoiler. With just three wins from 12 games and languishing in ninth place, Riyan Parag’s side has nothing to lose.
Their campaign has been riddled with close defeats, including a heart-breaking 1-run loss to KKR where Parag’s 95 went in vain. Injuries to Nitish Rana and Sandeep Sharma have further dented their hopes, forcing the Royals to call up Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Nandre Burger.
Punjab Kings, meanwhile, are just one win away from securing a playoff berth. Led by a composed Shreyas Iyer, PBKS have been among the most consistent teams this season, with seven wins from 11 games.
Their momentum was building before the IPL was paused, particularly during a dominant showing against Delhi Capitals on May 8. The addition of Kyle Jamieson as a replacement for the injured Lockie Ferguson strengthens their pace unit further.
