This is the fourth season of the Women's Premier League, and this year's commencement will be graced by another star-studded opening ceremony. The opening clash between the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be preceded by performances from singer Honey Singh and actor Jacqueline Fernandez. Also, Miss Universe 2021, Harnaaz Sandhu, will be present in the opening ceremony.

The opening ceremony concluded, national anthems done and now we are all set for action. MI openers - G Kamalini and Amelia Kerr are on the crease. Lauren Bell will start the proceedings for RCB with the ball.

Lauren Bell has been exceptional for RCB so far as she made Amelia Kerr dance on her tune with the new ball before finally getting her on the last ball of the fifth over for just 4 off 15 balls. It's been five overs of the powerplay and MI batters have been kept silenced by RCB so far.

RCB bowlers have been quite good so far with the ball. They have not only been able to keep things quite in terms of scoring rate but also have picked two crucial wickets of experienced Amelia Kerr (4) and Nat Sciver-Brunt (4).

15 runs came from the fifteenth over to take Mumbai to hundred. The 5th wicket partnership between Sajeevan Sajana and Nicola Carey goes to 33. Both the batters will have to bat for most of the last five overs to take MI to a competitive total.

That was a superb over from Nadine de Clerk, giving just five runs in the last over to restrict Mumbai Indians to 154/6 in 20 overs. At one stage MI-W were loitering at 67/4 but a brilliant 83-run stand from Sajeevan Sajana (45) and Nicola Carey (40) rescued them and helped them to reach 154.

RCB Openers - Smriti Mandhana and Grace Harris are on the crease to start the chase of 155, while Nat Sciver-Brunt will start the proceedings with the ball for MI.

Mumbai nip a flowering opening partnership in the bud! Shabnim Ismail sends back RCB captain Smriti Mandhana for a 13-ball 18 in the fourth over. Dayalan Hemalatha joins Grace Harris, who has already raced away to a 10-ball 21.

Mumbai have turned this game around quite remarkably. They have dislodged five RCB wickets for just 25 runs to assert their dominance with the ball. Nadine de Klerk and Arundhati Reddy now at the crease, with a huge task on their shoulders.

Nadine de Klerk and Arundhati Reddy have forged a 40-run ongoing stand for the 5th wickets. De Klerk had a very good 50-over World Cup and recently and is known to finish matches. RCB will be desperately hoping that the Proteas all-rounder could weave her magic once again and take them home.
