Punjab almost get an early breakthrough!! After hitting Goyal straight down the wicket for a one-bounce four, the batter tried to go bit again, but this time got an outside edge. The point fielder comes rushing in before taking a diving catch. However, replays show that it bounced right in front of the Ramandeep's fingers, and Gawli survives.

Gawli's luck finally runs out! A faster one from Gurnoor gets a slight knick off Gawli's bat as he advanced to hit it over the park. Instead, it makes for an easy grab by Prabhsimran. Madhya Pradesh lose their first of the day.

A 16-run over from Jassinder has massively boosted Madhya Pradesh's run rate in the powerplay, which now stands at almost 10-an-over. Both Venkatesh and Harpreet have started firing, which will be bad news for the Punjab bowlers in what looks like a terrific batting pitch.

What a comeback by Jassinder. After being hit all over the park in his first over, he breaks the partnership in the third ball. Harpreet looked to charge down the field and hit it over the ropes but did not get the right contact, and it's a freebie for Anmolpreet at long-on. Rajat Patidar is the new batter for MP.

It was going well for Madhya Pradesh, but they lose their skipper Patidar right before the half-way mark of the innings. The extra bounce did it for Ramandeep, with Patidar trying to play with standing stationery but getting an outside edge that is taken by Prabhsimran.

The lack of boundaries have put the pressure on MP's batters, and it bears fruit as Chauhan holes it out to Naman Dhir and departs for just five runs. Raghu Sharma is having a pretty good outing today, conceding just eight runs and taking a wicket in two overs. Aniket Verma is the new batter.

Back-to-back fours off Raghu, and Venkatesh reaches a well-deserved half-century off 35 balls – his 19th fifty in T20s. The Kolkata Knight Riders batter will have to do the bulk of the scoring for his side if they wish to reach a 200-adjacent score in the first innings.

Venkatesh's heroic innings comes to an end. It was outside off from Ramandeep, and the batter has no choice but to swing his bat at it. He gets a big edge that is taken well by the fine leg fielder, Gurnoor. Rahul Batham is the new batter.

A brilliant late winnings from Mangesh, hitting at a strike rate of 233, comes to an end as he holes out to Naman Dhir. Still, it's a good recovery by MP right at the end, reaching a big total of 225.

We have seen 230-run totals being chased down on this ground, so, the onus will be on the Punjab batters in the second innings, coming soon.

A maginificent catch by Harpreet, and the opening partnership is broken!! Mangesh was pretty expensive, conceding nine runs against Prabhsimran. The skipper got an outside edge, and Harpreet dove to his right, taking a terrific catch at slip. Anmolpreet is the new batter, and he opens his account with a six.

Anmolpreet tried to go inside out, but the extra bit of lift in the ball made it an easy catch for Patidar at the deep. Naman Dhir comes out to bat for MP, with Harnoor at the non-striker's end for some time now.

What a completely unnecessary loss of wicket by Punjab. Naman Dhir hit it towards the leg side and attempted to run a double, but he was slow during the second run. Ultimately, he fell a couple of inches short of the crease when the bails were dislodged after an accurate throw by Mangesh. Salil Arora is the new batter.

A boundary off the last ball of Kartikeya's over, and Harnoor reaches a well-taken fifty off just 28 balls. With wickets falling at the other end, he has held together Punjab's chase, which is looking pretty golden at the moment. 107 runs needed off 60 balls to win.

Harnoor's heroic knock comes to an end. It was short of the length from Shivam, and Harnoor wanted to play it towards the leg side but got an outside edge that flew in the other direction and is taken by Patidar. Is there a twist in this chase's tale? Ramandeep is the new batter.

MP are trying to stretch this match to the end, and Salil loses his wicket by needlessly hitting it straight into the arms of Patidar, departing at 50. The new batter, Sanvir Singh, gets a boundary off the very first ball, and is dropped at deep square leg by Batham in the next one.

What an end to this contest!! Two wickets in the 18th over took the match away from Punjab's grasp, with MP looking set for the first successful defence of the SMAT 2025 Super League. Ramandeep, however, had other plans, hitting some big shots right at the death to take his side over the line with a six and five balls to spare. First win of the Super League stage for Punjab.
