This victory not only ended India's three-match losing streak but also secured their place in the semifinals of the tournament. With this win, India will finish fourth in the league stage, joining Australia, South Africa, and England in the final four.

Batting first, India posted a formidable total of 340/3 in 49 overs. Openers Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal set the tone with a record-breaking 212-run partnership, marking India's highest-ever World Cup opening stand.

Mandhana's 109 runs off 95 balls and Rawal's 122 off 134 balls were the cornerstone of India's innings. Jemimah Rodrigues contributed an unbeaten 76 off 55 balls, providing the late surge that propelled India to their highest-ever World Cup total.

In response, New Zealand managed 271/8 in 44 overs, falling short despite a valiant 81 from Brooke Halliday and an unbeaten 65 from Isabella Gaze. India's spinners played a pivotal role in stalling the chase, with timely wickets and economical bowling. The disciplined bowling attack ensured that New Zealand could not capitalize on their middle-order resistance.
