Bumrah hits nets

Jasprit Bumrah is set to add further fire to India's pace bowling attack in the Lord's Test. Ahead of the Test match, Bumrah hit the nets on Tuesday and spent roughly 45 minutes honing his bowling skills. He also practiced batting after the intense bowling session was finished.

Among the players who were not part of the session were Gill, KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj.

Cricket meets tennis

London is not just the host for the next Test match but also for Wimbledon which is in full flow in the English capital. Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma attended Novak Djokovic's Round of 16 match while Rishabh Pant, Joe Root, James Anderson were also spotted enjoying tennis at the iconic All England Club.

Ganguly on Gill

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has said that pressure will rise on skipper Shubman Gill as the series goes on.

"It's phenomenal. I hope his career will take a new direction. And I believe he's a middle-order batter. He has just become captain, it's a honeymoon period. But there would be more pressure with time. The pressure will build in the next three Tests," Ganguly was quoted as saying by PTI.

Lord's pitch to be challenging?

India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak is expecting the pitch for the Lord’s Test to be much more challenging for the batters.

“And generally a Lord’s... The scores of the first and second innings are comparatively low. So, we can expect that it will be helpful for bowlers. For the batsmen, the same thing, I believe, is the mindset. Spending time on the wickets is the best friend you can have. The more time you spend on the wicket, the more you will adjust to it."

Asked for his thoughts on Archer’s return, he said: “It will be a challenge, Jofra coming in. There might be a couple of bowling changes in the England team. Wicket also will be a little more challenging, it seems."
