England have won the toss and elect to bowl first at the Wankhede Stadium.
West Indies: Brandon King, Shai Hope(w/c), Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell, Sherfane Rutherford, Roston Chase, Romario Shepherd, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Gudakesh Motie, Shamar Joseph
England: Philip Salt, Jos Buttler(w), Jacob Bethell, Tom Banton, Harry Brook(c), Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Liam Dawson, Jamie Overton, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid
West Indies started well on what looks like a belter of a wicket courtesy to a boundary of wide ball but Jofra Archer came back well and got the priced wicket of skipper Shai Hope, who got dismissed for a duck in this important game. Shimron Hetmeyer joins King on the crease.
WI 8/1 (1)
West Indies lost two wickets early but since then Shimron Hetmeyer and Roston Chase have done well to make sure that they make good use of the powerplay on a batting wicket. They smashed Will Jacks for 4 fours and a six in the 5th over to take 19 runs off the over.
WI 52/2 (5)
Adil Rashid, who had a off day against Nepal started well today and trapped the good-looking Roston Chase before the stumps in his second over. Chase got dismissed after playing a good hand of 34 off 29 balls. Rovman Powell now joins Rutherford at the crease.
WI 79/4 (10)
Sherfane Rutherford and Rovman Powell have a forged a blistering 50-run stand between them for the 5th wicket in just 27 balls taking West Indies to a strong position. The WI can really explode from here on in the last six overs given the firepower they have.
WI 127/4 (14)
West Indies are on charge at the Wankhede Stadium as they took 20 runs from the 17th over of Sam Curran. Sherfane Rutherford and Jason Holder are looked well on course to give WI the impetus they need to post a big total.
WI 162/5 (17)
Sherfane Rutherford ends West Indies' end with a six to take their score to 196/6 in 20 overs at the Wankhede Stadium. Rutherford was well complemented by Rovman Powell (14) and Jason Holder (33), taking WI to a decent total. Adil Rashid was the pick of the bowlers for ENG with a figures of 4-16-2.
WI 196/6 (20)
Phil Salt started the chase well with a boundary off the first ball but Akeal Hossain did well in the subsequent five balls and only 7 runs were scored in the first over. Wickets are the only mantra for WI, if they want to restrict England on this pitch.
ENG 7/0 (1)
Phil salt, who was looking in sublime touch scoring 30 off just 14 balls was dismissed by Romario Shephard. However, he has already given England a sensational making it easy for batters to follow.
ENG 44/1 (4)
Just when it was looking that England are chipping away with the game, West Indies have got the priced wicket of Jos Buttler. He was dismissed by Roston Chase for 21 off 14 balls. Tom Banton joins Jacob Bethell on the crease.
ENG 76/2 (7)
What a fantastic period of play this has been for West Indies. They have reduced England from a flying 74 for 1 to 90 for 4, with Tom Banton and the dangerous Jacob Bethell both dismissed by Gudakesh Motie. What appeared to be a breezy chase is now a tricky one, with both teams in with an equal shot. Sam Curran and captain Harry Brook now in the middle.
ENG: 99/4 (11)
Just when the partnership between Sam Curran and Harry Brook seemed to be growing in confidence, Gudakesh Motie sends back the England captain. He beats Brook in the flight and then completes a superb caught and bowled, diving forward to accept the offering. Roston Chase then gets rid of Will Jacks to further imperil the English chase. 63 needed off 32 balls with four wickets remaining.
ENG: 134/6 (14.4)
Another one bites the dust as England lose their 7th wicket. Akeal Hosain gets Craig Overton caught at the long on boundary. ENG are in a spot as they still need 56 runs off 24 balls with just 4 wickets in hand.
ENG 141/7 (16)
Roston Chase take a blinder at square leg to end England's innings for 166. West Indies have won the match by 30 runs to solidify their chances of making it into the Super 8. Sam Curran (43 not out) kept fought at one end but unfortunately lost all partners at the other end. It's a huge win for West Indies and their cricket.
ENG 166 (19)
That's a wrap from our end. We'll meet soon with another blog soon, until then, bye bye.
