The Union government has set the maximum price private hospitals can charge for the three COVID-19 vaccines currently available in the country—Covishield at Rs 780 a dose, Covaxin at Rs 1,410 and Sputnik V at Rs 1,145. The health ministry suggested strict action against any private vaccination centre found charging above the ceiling.
