A group of 30 to 35 miscreants stormed a newly constructed church during its inauguration in South 24 Parganas district, West Bengal.
The attackers vandalized property, damaged a cross, destroyed mobile phones, and physically assaulted attendees, including Bishop Subrata Chakraborty, priests, and devotees.
Basanti police station officials launched a preliminary investigation, noting a pre-existing dispute between two local churches located close to each other.
