After reports of Hamas' rocket strike on Israel cities surfaced on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on X that he was "deeply shocked by the news of terrorist attacks". "Our thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with Israel at this difficult hour," he added. The External Affairs Ministry has not put out an official statement but has retweeted Modi's post.

Additional police vehicles have been deployed outside the Israeli Embassy and the official residence of the Israeli Ambassador to India, Naor Gilon. Chabad House is a religious place of Jews in the Paharganj area of New Delhi.

So far, there have been no untoward incidents involving Indians living and working in Israel, even as the Indian embassy in Tel Aviv received requests from its citizens, including tourists, stranded in the country to facilitate their safe exit. The Indian mission in Tel Aviv and the Representative Office of India in Palestine on Saturday issued advisories asking Indian nationals on respective sides to “remain vigilant” and “directly contact the Office” in case of an emergency.

As per latest figures, Israeli media are reporting Monday that more than 900 people were killed. Around 493 people have been killed in Gaza, according to authorities. Israel embassies in other cities such as London have witnessed protests in support of Palestine, calling for an end to the ongoing conflict.
