A newly opened deep-water channel in Baltimore saw its first cargo ship pass through on Thursday, following a four-week delay caused by the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge.

On Thursday morning, the "Balsa 94," a bulk carrier flying the Panama flag, navigated through the newly constructed 35-foot channel, en route to St. John’s, Canada.

One of five stranded vessels, the ship is anticipated to traverse the new temporary channel. Its arrival in Canada is scheduled for Monday.
