13-Year-Old Florida Boy Confesses To Stabbing Mother To Death

A 13-year-old Florida boy, who pleaded not guilty, has confessed to the police that he deliberately killed his mother in October.

Derek Rosa, a 13-year-old boy, has confessed to the Hialeah police under questioning that he killed his mother in October. Derek, studying in eighth grade, said that he stabbed his mother in the throat with a large kitchen knife while she was asleep.

In a chilling revelation during the interrogation video of Derek Rosa, who is accused of brutally murdering his 39-year-old mother, Irina Garcia, the teenager confessed to the crime. The incident occurred on October 12, as Rosa stabbed his mother multiple times while his newborn sister slept nearby in their Florida home.

Charged as an adult and having pleaded not guilty on October 31, Rosa provided details of the tragic event during the interrogation by detectives from the Hialeah Police Department. In the video, he mentioned going to bed around 10 p.m., like his mother, and waking up later to commit the heinous act.

Rosa admitted to grabbing a kitchen knife and proceeding to his mother's room, where he confessed to killing her by cutting her neck and hitting an artery. Disturbingly, he described using curse words before deliberately stabbing her.

After the murder, Rosa revealed he contemplated suicide, even attempting to use one of his stepfather's guns. However, he couldn't follow through and ultimately called a friend he knew from online video games. Rosa informed his friend of the gruesome act, sending pictures of his deceased mother and himself.

Subsequently, Rosa decided to call 911, asking for police to come to the house as he had killed his mom. During the interrogation, when questioned about why he killed his mother, Rosa requested a lawyer, leading to the end of the interview.

Derek Rosa's case has raised disturbing questions about the motive behind the tragic incident. He might face another trial next month.
