Tension between Israel and Iran have exploded into a military conflict, now it's the fifth day. Both nations are launching missiles , causing significant damage and casualties , while the international watches closely. Amid the escalating conflict, key political and military developments continue to unfold. 

Trump denies peace talk

US President Donald Trump strongly denied reports that he had reached out to Iran for peace talk, calling it “highly fabricated and fake news”. In a post he said “Iran should have taken the deal that was on the table” and stated that if Iran leaders want to negotiate, “they know how to reach me”.

Top Iranian Commander Killed

Israel announced it has killed Ali Shadmani, Iran's newly-appointed wartime chief of staff. Shadmani, who was considered the country's most senior military commander, had been in the role for only four days after his predecessor was also killed by an Israeli strike.

Heavy Casualties in the ongoing strikes 

The conflict which began on June 13, continues with both sides trading misiles. Iran has reported over 224 deaths from the Israeli attacks, while Israel reports 24 deaths and over 500 people injured.

Evacuation warning issues

With Trump posting “immediately evacuate Tehran” warning, the Israeli Military too has called for an evacuation of residents in a neighbourhood of Tehran. Following this the Indian embassy advised its citizens to leave the city. 

G7 leaders back Israel

The G7 nations issued a joint statement supporting Israel’s ‘right to defend itself’. The leaders also reiterated their position that “Iran can never have nuclear weapon”
