Speaking at the AI Summit on Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump criticized American tech companies for establishing factories in China and outsourcing jobs to India, accusing them of embracing “radical globalism” at the expense of American workers.

Trump said that much of America’s tech industry pursued a radical globalism that has left millions of Americans feeling distrustful and betrayed.
He signed three executive orders related to artificial intelligence at the summit, and warned that the usual practices would not continue under his administration.
“For too long, much of America’s tech industry pursued a radical globalism that left millions of Americans feeling distrustful and betrayed,” Trump said. “Many of our largest tech companies have reaped the blessings of American freedom while building their factories in China, hiring workers in India and slashing profits in Ireland. All the while dismissing and even censoring their fellow citizens right here at home. Under President Trump, those days are over.”
Trump urged that America needs “a new spirit of patriotism and national loyalty in Silicon Valley and long beyond Silicon Valley,” asking American technology companies to “be all in for America.”
“We want you to put America first. You have to do that. That’s all we ask,” he said.
The President signed three executive orders as part of his administration’s strategy to bolster the United States’ competitiveness in the global AI race. Among these is a White House action plan for AI development and an order promoting the export of comprehensive American AI technology packages, as part of a coordinated national initiative to support the domestic AI sector.
