India told a UN meeting that targeting commercial shipping and endangering civilian crew in the Strait of Hormuz is “unacceptable” and violates international law.
The remarks came days after an India-flagged vessel was attacked off the Oman coast, with all 14 crew members rescued safely by Omani authorities.
India said global cooperation and both short-term and structural measures are needed to tackle the ongoing energy and supply disruptions caused by the West Asia conflict.
