Graphic Era: Building A World-Class University Where Every Dreamer Can Thrive

Choosing a university is one of the most defining crossroads in a young person’s life, carrying not just the weight of academic ambition, but the quiet hopes and lifelong dreams of the entire family. When students pack their bags for college, they carry the trust of parents who want nothing more than to see their child secure a bright, dignified and impactful future. In an era where families often believe that world-class education is confined to expensive international destinations or crowded metro cities, Graphic Era Deemed University in Dehradun has worked to challenge that perception by building an institution that brings quality education, advanced facilities and global exposure within reach of aspiring students.

The story behind Graphic Era’s growth is rooted in the inspiring vision of Dr. Kamal Ghansala, Chairman of Graphic Era Group of Institutions, who set out decades ago to build a world-class educational institution where students from every walk of life could access top-quality facilities, international exposure and industry-leading mentorship. Dr. Ghansala understood early on that academic excellence cannot exist in isolation; it requires state-of-the-art technological infrastructure, advanced laboratories, modern sports complexes and a supportive community that treats every student’s dream with care and respect.

Graphic Era’s faculty members have been the backbone of this journey, dedicating themselves to guiding students through complex research challenges, fostering creative problem-solving and offering personal mentorship that extends far beyond the boundaries of lecture halls. It is this blend of high-tech infrastructure and genuine human warmth that makes Graphic Era a university that parents trust and students remember with pride.

Graphic Era offers an environment where academic learning is deeply intertwined with real-world exposure and student support. The university’s sprawling campus in Dehradun provides cutting-edge research laboratories, advanced artificial intelligence and robotics centres, high-speed technology infrastructure, and modern incubators that foster entrepreneurial thinking. Students are encouraged to explore interdisciplinary subjects, participate in global research projects, and collaborate with industry leaders long before they graduate.

The university also understands the financial and emotional commitment that parents make while sending their children for higher education. To ensure that merit and talent are rewarded, Graphic Era provides comprehensive scholarship programmes, special financial concessions for female candidates to encourage gender diversity in technical fields, and dedicated support for the families of defence personnel.

This focus on academic excellence and practical learning is reflected in the career opportunities available to Graphic Era graduates. Year after year, global tech giants and multinational conglomerates, including Microsoft, Google, Adobe, Amazon and Atlassian, actively recruit from the university, with placement packages reaching up to ₹61.99 lakh.

Graphic Era’s achievements also reflect its growing standing in national and international higher education. The university has established a presence across multiple evaluation frameworks, demonstrating its progress in academic performance, research and institutional development. In the Government of India’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025, Graphic Era ranked 48th among universities in India. Internationally, the institution placed 138th in South Asia and 523rd across Asia in the QS World University Rankings, while securing 41st place in India in the QS Sustainability Rankings 2025 for its commitment to environmental stewardship and social impact.

A significant milestone in this journey came with the newly released Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027, in which Graphic Era secured the 9th rank among all universities in India and entered the prestigious 551–600 rank band globally. Moving up from the 601–800 rank band the previous year, this recognition highlights the university’s progress and its continued focus on academic and research excellence.

Graphic Era’s growth from Dehradun to the upper tiers of global higher education reflects a commitment to building an institution where quality education, research, industry connections and student aspirations come together. Its journey signals a broader shift in Indian higher education, demonstrating how world-class research outcomes, high-impact industry linkages and global benchmarks can be pursued through a steadfast commitment to quality.

As Graphic Era continues to strengthen its place among India’s leading universities, it remains focused on academic excellence, equal opportunities and an unwavering commitment to its students, reinforcing the belief that world-class education and the opportunity to build a brighter future should be within reach of every dreamer.
