Adani Ports will inaugurate the second phase of Vizhinjam seaport development, costing around Rs 16,000 crore, on Saturday.
The expansion aims to make Vizhinjam the largest transshipment hub in the Indian subcontinent, adding 4.1 million TEUs to capacity with advanced automation.
Phase 2 includes berth expansion, dredging, India’s deepest breakwater, green equipment, and critical infrastructure upgrades like EV charging and sewage treatment.
