There have been speculations that actor Vikrant Massey was part of the third instalment of the Don series. However, the latest report claims that Massey has walked out of Ranveer Singh starrer Don 3.
Industry sources reveal that Vikrant took the decision due to the lack of depth in his character and the need for a transformation. His character was supposed to have a high-octane action combat scenes with Ranveer Singh.
Now, Farhan Akhtar's team is looking for a suitable replacement to fit into the character. Reportedly, Vijay Deverakonda and Aditya Roy Kapur are considered for the role. But there has been no confirmation from the actors.
A source close to the producers told Bollywood Hungama, "There is no doubt that Vikrant would have been phenomenal. We are certain that another actor of his calibre will step up and take this challenge head-on."
Don 3 is said to be going on floors in January 2026. We hope the makers find someone who can step into Massey's shoes.
Earlie, a source informed the news portal that Deverakonda will not be part of Don 3. "It’s been Ranveer and Vikrant from the start. Baseless rumours of Deverakonda replacing Massey are not going to tamper with the cast in any way," the source said.
A report in Gulte states that the Liger actor has politely turned down the role of an antagonist, as he wants to focus on his Telugu projects.
The report of Vikrant's exit from the upcoming film has neither been confirmed by the actor nor the makers.
In 2024, actress Kiara Advani was announced as the female lead of Don's third instalment, but earlier this year in March, it was reported that the mom-to-be, has left the film due to her pregnancy. Kriti Sanon was reportedly in talks to replace Kiara. Nothing has been confirmed yet about the female actress of Don 3.
Amitabh Bachchan played the titular character in the 1978 Don. Shah Rukh Khan essayed the character in the remake, which came out in 2006, followed by Don 2 in 2011—both directed by Farhan Akhtar.
