TIFF 2025: Sholay, Homebound, Anurag Kashyap's Bandar To Premiere At The Prestigious Film Festival

The 50th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival is scheduled to take place from September 4 to September 14, 2025, in Canada. On Monday (July 21) night, TIFF announced the full list of Galas and Special Presentations. Three Indian films have been selected to be screened at TIFF 2025. Amitabh Bachchan-Dharmendra starrer 1975 iconic film Sholay will be screened at 50th Anniversary Restoration, and Neeraj Ghaywan's Homebound, starring Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor and Vishal Jethwa, is part of the Gala Presentations line-up. Anurag Kashyap's film Bandar (English title: Monkey In A Cage) will have its world premiere at 2025 TIFF.

Bandar, inspired by true events, stars Bobby Deol and Sanya Malhotra. On Tuesday, Deol took to Instagram, and shared a poster of his film and captioned it, "The story that should not have been told… but is the offical selection at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival 2025. Our film inspired from true events is premiering at #tiff50 #बंदर #Bandar #MonkeyinaCage (sic)".

Bandar marks Kashyap's comeback as a director. His last directorial venture was Kennedy, which had its world premiere at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
