Manjummel Boys financial fraud controversy

Soubin was taken for interrogation in connection with a complaint filed by Siraj Valiyaveettil, who claimed to have invested Rs 7 crore in Manjummel Boys. He alleged that he was informed that the film’s total budget would be Rs 22 crore. Later, he came to know that only Rs 18.65 crore was spent on making and promotions of the film. Siraj also claimed of not receiving the 40 percent profit share which he was promised during the production of the film. Reportedly, the film earned over Rs 240 crore at the worldwide box office.

As per the court's order, Maradu police are continuing their investigation and have submitted a report to the HC.

As per a report in Asianet, the court had directed Soubin Shahir to be present for questioning and should be granted anticipatory bail. The court also order that the accused should not be interrogated in custody and should be released on bail if arrested.

The HC rejected the producers' request to dismiss the case and rejected the police’s request to question them in custody.

On the work front, Soubin will be seen in Rajinikanth starrer Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
